Can someone confirm that the E6400 integrated card reader can read
Memory Stick cards (My Sony camera uses these)?

I don't think anyone can confirm that the E6400 can read Sony MS, because it cannot. The 3-in-1 support is SD / SDHC / MMC.

    only SD/MMC/SDHC
coz it's just an sd card reader/slot and not an all-in-one card reader

They DO advertise a 5 in 1 card reader...
    "Slots:
    5-in-1 card reader"
    (from here)

Too bad I don't have a MS to test it with.

    mine was not a 5 in 1
and i do remember prior to purchasing that there was no option to pick which card reader

maybe the 5 in 1 that they say was: sd/sdhc/mmc/micro sd[with sd adaptor]/mini sd[ with sd adaptor] :)

Maybe it's an "sd/sdhc/mmc reader, dummy holder and dust catcher", so it's 5 in 1.
No, just kidding. I've been seeing a card reader being advertised as "53-in-1 card reader", though. :)

I can confirm that it doesn't work with Memory Stick Pro Duo. Haven't been able to test with the bigger Memory Stick Pro, but I doubt it'll work either. Would definitely like to know what are the last two supported formats (besides SD/MMC/SDHC)... if there are any, though.

Page 22 of my E6400 Setup and Quick Reference Guide says:

so add SD IO and MMC+ to the list, plus mini SD and mini MMC with adaptors.

ok, so the Dell card reader won't support memory stick.
Is there a particular port on the laptop that this card reader plugs into?
Ideally I would replace it with a card reader module that supports memory stick. I don't want to fumble with an external adapter to read my digital camera memory cards.

The media card reader is built-in.

One option you can look into is to have a PC Card / ExpressCard MS reader which permanently lives in the card slot.
