E6400: High pitched beeping sound coming from my keyboard?

    Unfortunately it makes no difference where I move the laptop and, it makes the same noise when its on battery power as when its plugged in.

    I just noticed something interesting:

    When I do something that makes the CPU work (ie, open a new window or click on a link) the sound stops for the second or two (or becomes more intermittent) that it takes to respond to that command, but then goes right back to a constant high pitched buzzing once the page is loaded. So, essentially as long as the page takes to load, I am free of the sound.

    I though this might be the screen, but the sound stays even when my screen automatically shuts off, per my power option settings...

    Possible the CPU is making this noise?
