I have a new E6410 - Win 7 64bit Pro with the Intel Graphics Card.

I use my laptop for presentations and this week was the first road trip. Got all setup, connected the Project via the VGA to M1 cord to my Dell MP3400 Projector. The laptop auto changed the Resolution the second I connect a VGA cable, without even touching the Projector. Auto downgraded to 1366 x 768. Then once I powered up the Projector, it changed yet again to 1152 x 864. I tried everything, but couldnt get it to go any higher than 1366x 768.

Then the next day, I connected a 24inch Dell monitor via the VGA port, and it immediately went to 1152x768 as soon as the VGA cable connected with the power on.

I specially purchased this laptop with the upgraded screen for 1440x900 for my presentations. The Dell MP3400 supports 1440x900. But I can't get it to work. Is this a Laptop Issue? or a Win 7 issue? It can't be a VGA issue as I ran this on my Dell Latitude 830 via the VGA port on XP pro for 3 Years.

    Help!

Did you install drivers for them? You'll need drivers for the laptop to support the external monitor's resolution, and it sounds like you're using generic drivers, so that's why you're not getting optimal resolution.

The easiest way would be to connect the projector or LCD and have Windows Update check for updates. You can also install the drivers manually by downloading from http://support.dell.com.
