My SD card slot isn't working, insert a card but not showing up in Win 7 x64, media card is enable in BIOS which was just updated to latest, Ricoh driver was also installed.

I don't see any device named Ricoh in device manager, could be a hardware issue?

When you insert it... press hard on the SD card to make it go in really well. See if that works. I had the same problem. Once I did that, from now on, the slot works fine. I think the slot is not well inserted.. but then again, I had my laptop base changed, so the motherboard was removed and put back by the technician.. so it might have played part.

    Are you sure?
It should be listed in device manager, under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

Yup same issue I had. If what I said doesn't work.. then the module is probably broken and would need a replacement (new motherboard). Call Dell tech support for repair.

Don't forget: you can always use your COA to upgrade to 64-bit. You may have to do phone activation, but it's an automated system and it takes less than 10 minutes.

Everything has been great on my e6410 so far, but I've had Notepad open up randomly twice now.

True, but the problem is getting the OEM 64-bit disk of the same edition. They are ways to remake a Windows 7 retail disk in any edition you want, it's some file editing thing or removal you have to do, but you need a blank disk.
I don't like downloads or copied disks, as it CAN (and I saw it with my eyes), bad experiences, where the OS works fine, everything works fine, and one day you are like "Let me start Remote desktop" (or wtv else thing you rarelly used), and it fails. Repair windows.. no hope, re-install is in order.. re-install lead to teh same result. Now re-install with an official disk, ba-dam! it works. It ha snothing to do with copy protection. Microsoft doesn't put one on the disk.

To do it right here is what you need to do:
    > Download it (someone on this forum made a thread with valid, and legal links to download your Windows 7 64-bit disk (no license)), and once you r done, perform a checksum to ensure that the data on the file is the same as on the server.

    > When you burn (make) the disk, be sure to set your burning software to verify the disk after wards, and to burn the disk at slow speed.

Doing so, usually eliminates the problem.

    lol, ok..
    that is a funny problem.

Ok, so just be sure you don't have some kind of weird malware.. get Malwarebytes (free), and scan your system. If no malware found, then good.. but I don't get it why notepad opens by itself, unless a program purposely opens it, or you by accident.
