    Hey everyone,

I've recently tried to connect an SATA HDD to my eSATA port and I'm having trouble turning off the default RAID settings. Dell rep. told me that the SATA settings are configured to try and create a RAID array by default, with the main system disk.

Has anyone had any luck disabling this and simply using the eSATA drive as another system disk?

I figured it out. If you use disk management, and assign a drive letter, all will be well.

I would add that, if you are using a Dell factory Windows installation, then you can change the SATA setting in the BIOS setup from RAID to AHCI wiithout getting a BSOD.
