I don’t want you e6510 guys to flame me, but my e6510 is worthless right now. I have it lying on the table with the battery out of it, waiting for the tech guy to show up Monday and replace the display. He was suppose to change the mobo, but I guess they will try the display itself first; although I told them the colors are off even on an external monitor. If you don’t have Next Business day warranty, get it!

I now realize it’s a mistake not to get the display you want when buying the laptop, that is one of the most important features if not the most important feature of the laptop. And since it will be covered in the warranty, I guess it’s better to get the best display right out of the gate, so you don’t have to go through what I’m going through now.

The M570RU/U was the perfect companion to my x200t, only because the display was just as good as and slightly better than the x200t. But the e6510, forget about it! Colors are washed out, colors do not show correctly, I’m just totally pissed! If the new display can at least correct the color issue, I’ll be fine with that until I can get a nice FHD screen!

Will someone with the FHD screen on the e6510 please tell me how well the display is? I'm more than likely to order a FHD screen tomorrow, but I don't want to waste my time if it is not going to be worth it for the e6510.

I believe Dell ships the LP156WF2(TP)(B1), but as someone mentioned on another thread, only the LP156WF1(TP)(B1) is available. I can get this screen for $70!

    OMG!

The Dell guy was here, and he was fantastic!

He took apart my machine and installed a new motherboard, LCD back panel and LCD in one hour! But the good part is this. The screen he replaced was from samsung (I have pictures of the whole operation), with that screen my viewing angles were just in front of the computer and nothing more. The screen I have now has side viewing angles that looks like I'm in front of the computer! Holy sakes batman! It now reminds me of the high detailed screen on my sister's elitebook!
I'll check everything out with which screen I have and all, but now I'm seriously considering keeping this display.

Which one do you have and how are the viewing angles?

Which screen did he install? And perhaps changing the MB video circuit helped.

He put this one in from AU Optronics B156XW02 V.5

Although it's just WXGA, everything on the screen just jumps out at you. My desktop icons are so 3D like, especially websites and text.

I noticed that I have not received a display timeout error, which I always thought it was a driver issue of some sort. But since I have not made any changes in drivers, the video circuit that you mention could very well have been the problem. With that being said, the last display was horrible! This is a night and day difference. This has different levels of brightness, very and brilliant, LOL! I can absolutely read every message/text looking at the screen completely sideways. There is no way I'm going to get another screen, unless I know the WSXGA or the WUXGA will give me the same clarity, hopefully.

    LIFE IS GOOD!
