    Hi, correct. The default drive is a Sata 2 drive. I got the WD scorpio black. Replace it with a Sata 3 to unleash the power :)

    The media bay (optical disk) is a Sata1, but you can connect a faster disk. I bought the Dell media bay expansion (DELL Hard Drive : E-Modular 320GB Hard Drive (7.200 Rpm) For External Media Bay (Kit) : Storage, Drives & Media - Accessories | Dell Ireland) which connects with a Sata 2 interface.

    I don't know for sure if the Samsung is a Sata 3 drive. There is a link in the E6520 topic with a review but it's a big topic ;-)
