Is there such a thing? I've found batteries online that seem to be meant to replace the DVD Drive in the optical bay, but none of them seem to mention the more modern Precisions (and Latitudes too, I suppose) as compatible. Is there such a battery?

Dell don't provide a bay battery option for the E series Latitudes and the equivalent Precisions. I assume they decided that the 9.5mm high slot wouldn't hold a big enough battery to make it worth the effort. Instead they offer the 12 cell battery slice that fits underneath the computer.
