    Expansion slot... express card or pc... I am lame on this selection going forward.???

    Have you got any cards that fit either slot? If so, that should guide your choice.

    Express card is newer and faster, but there are a lot of PC (PCMCIA) cards in circulation, which is why Dell still provides that option.

    I actually ordered Express card when I got my E6400 but I intend to get PC card for my planned E6410 because I have an old SCSI card which I need for connecting an old film scanner.

    I use a pcmia card for photos only. just didn't know which was the smart way to order. keep computer for years.

    Then I suggest you stick with PC card which is PCMCIA compatible.

    I wouldn't worry too much about it... I'm pretty sure there are adapters in both directions in case you suddenly have the need for one slot or the other. Personally, if you've got no bias towards either slot, though, I'd get ExpressCard.
