    Thanks for all the information!

I had been wondering if these ebay sellers were just buying from the outlet and reselling and everybody has confirmed this. That makes it more important to research the seller and ask question.

I think even with the markup, some of the ebay deals are still quite good. In particular, the M6600 has has some fairly solid discounts over buying new. Many of the sellers seem to have good feedback.

I do agree with Blitz47 that it can be hard to find some of the higher spec precisions on the outlet. I've seen some nice ones vanish almost immediately! There seem to be easily available from ebay, so that could make sense.

I'm going to keep my eye on the outlet to see if something nice shows up there. If not, at least I know ebay is an option.

Again, thanks for all the information!

I found you just have to camp Outlet constantly. Usually when they get a large influx, they sent out model specific coupons. Like a few weeks ago they had 25% off any Precision M4600, Dell Outlet had a good 9+ pages of M4600's.

I don't know why Dell does not sell all of their outlet PCs on ebay themselves. Dell has been selling on Ebay for quite some time. Seems odd to me.

The ebay sellers use the robot script programs that search, blow through the cart verification process, and add items to their cart, all in a split second. This has been going on for years. This is why you will see items appear available for a second, then they are gone.

The 20% off coupon can be a great deal, with unbeatable prices, on certain items, or it can be a joke. For example, I saw a precision laptop during the last coupon days, and it was 1800.00 minus 20% off, so it was 1440.00. This week, I saw the exact same configuration for 1440.00, no coupon needed.
