    I have vvv big problem.i have dell latitude e5500 and i have combo external tv tuner card.Problem is that when i connect tv tuner to laptop by vga cable i cant see anything on laptop.i see same screen of laptop but cant see screen of external tv card why??
    i need some thing???
    s video slot???

    The E5500's video port is for displaying the computer's screen on an external device. Do I understand that you are trying to feed video info into the computer through this port? If so, it won't work.

    yes i was trying to get other video to laptop but this is from laptop to other device.
    can i use s video port of laptop??
    i can connect external tv tuner device directly to monitor and it display tv
    while if i connect the same display to laptop monitor port it shows black screen
    it seems that it is not for that purpose
    can i use s video or any other method?

    No, all video connectors of your laptop are outputs only.

    You need some videograbber thingy which is connected via USB to your computer and has video inputs to connect analog video sources like TV Tuners, VCR and similar stuff.

    For watching TV on the laptop, an USB TV Tuner should be considered also.
