I have a pair of laptops, a D520 that my grandma used, and a C840 I just got from my boss.

The C840 has a pressure mark from the Trackpoint cap, a bad red pixel in that pressure mark, but the screen's 1600x1200.

    The D520 is just 1024x768

    Both are 15" models

I haven't had the opportunity to take apart the laptops and see if the panels are swappable yet or if I'll run into a problem like the 8500/D810 I worked with last night (8500's WUXGA panel worked fine when plugged into the D810, but the inverter was a different shape and I couldn't just swap those out), but I figured I'd ask if anyone else had tried it, or knew of any limitations on the D520 side. (I don't care if the C840 doesn't work).

I don't think the connectors are the same between the D820 and D520. Even if there was a UXGA panel with the appropriate D520 connections, you'd need a D520 display cable that can "fill" UXGA, and I don't actually think they make/made those.

... but of course, I think you should try it and find out for sure :)
