    Hi All

I have had a vostro 1220 for 2 weeks now.
My dad has just walked in with it and dropped it on a tiled floor.

Now i have a massive internal crack on the screen.

Im assuming is isnt repairable so would any of you knowledgable people know the best process for replacing it?

is it difficult to buy a screen and replace it yourself or would you get it done professionally?

i dont even know where to start looking

    Thank you in advance

    Steven

ps I am in the manchester area

Do you have complete care on the laptop? If so, then it would be covered. If not, then it will have to come out of your pocket (ebay, or dell direct).

I have to replace my screen for my Notebook. Just buy one off eBay, and take the orig one out and put the new one in. Or if you have Complete Care, just phone up Dell.

Here's a new screen on ebay.co.uk. However, you need to check with the supplier about the specification. The listing says 1024 x 800 resolution but it should be 1280 x 800.

The procedure for replacing the screen is given in the service manual.
