Willing to pay for a copy.

I am the original owner of a Dell X1 laptop. Even with the 3 year extended warranty, it is now clearly out of warranty. When we purchased this laptop, it did not come with any recovery or restore CD.

The windows partition finally died of old age with a corrupted file. Won't boot up as a dll is missing.

HOW can I get a recovery/restore CD? It is still running the original Windows XP OS.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thanks,
    UL

You can get a recovery CD by filling out the request form online: https://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dellcare/en/backupcd_form

Greetings, THANKS. Submitted the form but the problem is that I think the form only works for computers IN warranty. I extended the warranty to a 3 year warranty but am past the warranty coverage period.

    Thanks,
    UL

Legally, that Dell webpage is the only way you can acquire that CD. Sharing those on NBR is strictly against forum rules.
