Hi all, I had a similar question earlier on Dell's U2711 monitor but think will now settle on the U3011 monitor that has a higher resolution of 2560x1600.

I have a couple of Dell notebooks that I use. How can I tell which is powerfully enough to drive the display ?

First is the E4310 with Intel integrated graphics. I gather from earlier replies that that chipset maxes out at 2560x1440.

The second is the Precision M2400 with nVidia Quadro FX370M. I've tried for an hour searching for "max resolution" and the card and coming up with nothing. Does anyone know ?

    Thanks in advance.

PS. If it matters, I shall be using the display for (non-Open GL CS4) photo-editing and regular productivity apps. No gaming will be involved.

I cant speak to 2560 x 1440 but I am typing this on an M2400 docked to an 3008WFP at 2560 x 1600 and it works perfectly via Display Port.

According to Intel the E4310's QS57 chipset can handle up to 2560 x 1600 via the DisplayPort interface.
