Hi guys, i had a dell vostro 1700 and it booted vista very quickly. The vista bootscreen bar was looping like crazy. i saw a similar thing with a dell precision m4400. here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAFVMQdWpuw

Notice how the vista bootscreen loops like crazy. Is there a technology that makes these dell laptops boot that fast?

nope. only a 7200rpm hard drive in the precision. my vostro 1700 had the default 160gb one. i dont remember its rpm.. so, if the hard drive is faster, the vista bootscreen will loop faster?

To me it looks like the video is running fast to cause the speed increase
Notice the second timer is running fast as well ;)

Like others have said, the video is sped up. The actual boot times are not particularly remarkable. Not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I wouldn't say my M4400 is particularly flashy with booting....either Vista or Win7. No slouch but nothing special either.

Same with my D630. The Lenovo's with their Enhanced Experience system they did with Microsoft boot pretty fast into W7
