How Do You Know What Screen You Have?

    On my dell precision there was four options for screens. How do i know what i have? like is it ccfl or led.

    if i look up the service tag does it tell me what it is. i know i have the 1920x1200 screen wuxga so i either have the ccfl or rgb led. help.

    If the screen is matte it's 2CCFL and if is glossy (Truelife) it's RGBLED.

    all i know mine is very bright. seems glossy. ill check my service tag info and see.

    If it's even slightly glossy then you have the RGB LED.

    Oops sorry....you might actually have an RGB LED matter on the m6400...somehow i thought you had a m4400 iso m6400....The m6400 with RGB LED can be both glossy and matte.

    Press Windowskey + X. This will open the mobility center. In the mobility center, pull the display brightness slider from the left to the right or vice versa as quick as you can. If this causes the color of the display to change temporarily, it must be RGBLED.

    all that does is make it go bright to dim.

    I think you do have the 2CCFL then and not the RGB LED :(
