My father in law bought a Vostro 3500. How does one update the Dell drivers on it?

Is there a program that he can run that will tell him what new drivers are available, let him choose the ones he wants, and then automatically install them on the machine like Lenovo's System Update does for Thinkpads?

He is not computer literate so it is difficult to offer help when I have no idea as to what he is or is not doing on the other end in spite of what I ask him to do. He doesn't have a network connection at home so I can't remote into the machine.

I don't think Dell makes such a program... but these days if you're running Vista or 7, you can get a good number of generic driver updates through Windows Update. Just look under "optional updates".
