    Hi all,

I found a good deal on an E6400 which is perfect except that it comes with Dell Wireless 1397. I want the Intel 5100 for Linux compatibility, but I'd hate to pass up a good opportunity just because of the wireless chipset.

I have a few E6400s at work, and it looks like the whole underside needs to be unscrewed (and I won't test on them for obvious reasons)?

Remove one screw and you can slide off the whole bottom.

Read the service manual for more about how to change the parts. Just be aware that the E6400 uses a half-height mini-PCI card for the wireless.
