The title pretty much sums up my question. I haven't had a new laptop in about 8 years. I used to clean my screen with a mix of 50/50 rubbing alcohol and water with a microfiber cloth. Is that still a viable solution?

Alcohol might cause problems with the display anti-glare coating. I use a damp cloth with a hint of liquid detergent. After cleaning the screen I then give the rest of the computer a wipe.

Water dampened cloth diaper (cotton cheese cloth or similar). Softly wipe the screen away from the edges to soften any crude and preclude pushing it under the bezel. Then wipe with the dry end, turning the cloth over to remove any crude, not just push it around. It will dry to a streak-free matte finish in seconds.

I'm still a fan of breathing on it and wiping with a sock
