I have a Dell Vostro 1510 laptop and its fan is making funny noises. so I decided to open it up and clean the cpu fan, but I couldn't find a way to do so. have anyone done this before with Dell laptops?

You should have put this in the Dell Vostro forum, you would have gotten more responses there. ;)

Here's a pictorial on how to remove the fan it's easy.

    STEP 4.

Remove three screws securing the cooling fan. Unplug the cooling fan cable from the motherboard.

If it is making funny noises, you might need to replace it if cleaning doesn't help. Give it a shot first though, and see.
