    Hi,
Has anyone been able to get i8kfan installed on a M6400 with win7 64 bit?
I get a error just saying fanio driver has failed to install. I only just got this machine and it is hotter than my M1730.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

from what i remember about it, you need to download the signed driver for the 64 bit version and if i also remember correctly, when you do get it running it isn't compatible with M6400 anyway!

    Thanks,
Is there still no other way to cool it down?
It was fine in winter but now its summer in Australia and i cant even get it close to my lap without burning.
    Cheers

Do any of the different bios versions for the M6400 have different fan profiles like the M4400 does, I use earlier bios versions for this very reason....more fan usage.
