Have a e6510 with a intel 6300 wireless card on it and only about 2 weeks old. Had a issue yesterday where internet just stopped working, and windows could not find any networks at all. So i disabled it and turned it back on, re-installed the drivers and I noticed the wifi light on the top of the computer was not on so i switched the wifi switch on and off and nothing. I took the bottom of the computer off and got to the wifi card and pushed on the antenna wires and turned it back on and boom it all works fine.

Well today same thing happened, opened up the bottom on of the laptop off out the card and put it back in and re installed the antenna wires and now it works fine again.

Anyone had this issue before and know what the issue may be. Bad wifi card? Software related. I put the computer back using a backup image to about a week ago when it was having no issues before I took off the wifi card and it did not work so it leads me to believe it is a hardware issue.

In device manager it shows the card is installed, running intel diag on the wif card shows it is on but no networks available.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Dell will most likely offer you a number of options. Contact Dell immediately.

Since the WiFi light is also having problems, I don't think it's the OS. It could be either the card or the connector, I would try the card first. Have Dell send you a replacement card, and if it doesn't help, it should be the motherboard.
