    Hi,

I have plans to buy a Latitude E6520 with the FHD panel. I'm not sire if I will be satisfied wih the matte screen, so i wonder if it is possible to replace it with another?

I saw that there is a new M4600 that will be released within a few weeks and would it be possible for me to insert that panel (ISF RGB-LED) into the E6520? (If dell lets me buy one...)

In the past I would have thought so, but with the new M4600, who knows.

The M4600 is NOT an E6520 on steroids like some of the older machines. It looks like a mini M6600. Very big overall upgrade from the E6520.

Even if the m6600 is a much more powerful version of the E6520 or a smaller version of the M6600, the panels should have the same dimensions? Is there some kind of standard for 15,6" panels at all?

I am thinking about the interfaces used to connect the panels.

It is likely they use different connectors. Take a look at a M6500 for example. It uses 2 different connectors for the each panel type.

I really like the E6520 but I would like to have the option to put a better panel in it. :(

    Check out this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-studio-xps/554402-dell-xps-l501x-lcd-display-swap.html

Both the matte and glossy AUO panels that work in the XPS 15 should work in the E6520 no problem. They're not RGBLED, but they're "B+RGLED" and provide 95% color gamut.

Look around the thread for mentions of "twscreens.com" and contacting "Helen" to order the screen.

    Part number:
    B156HW01 V4 (matte)
    B156HW01 V7 (glossy)

Be sure that if you order the part elsewhere that it doesn't mention that it's a "compatible" part, because the V0 and V1 aren't B+RGLED.
