I always keep my laptop plugged in so I don't use the battery. It's primary function is, in case there's a power interruption. This morning my Vostro 1500 (going on two years) started flashing the battery LED on the control panel on the palm rest.

    It says 100% full...Charging !

It's been like that for 1.5 hours so I took it out. While in the machine I ran HWMon and it should a fully charged battery and the power output was equal across the board.

So is the battery bad, IYO? I took it out because i've read of Dell batteries exploding in the past so I wanted to be safe than sorry.

If you're getting that red-light green-light flashing, the battery is probably bad. Not so much bad as in it's going to explode, just that it's lost a large percentage of it's original capacity.

I didn't check for that before I pulled it out, tbh.

So I plugged it back in after after 4 hours and NO LED's are lit and now it reads 100% Charged, yay it fixed itself which means it'll probably come back.
