I just installed mTRON SSD in my Latitude D420 laptop.

I turned my laptop on and my mTRON SSD was not detected. I panicked and i thought that my SSD was dead-on-arrival. I left my computer on for like 10 minutes and then I reboot. After the reboot my laptop finally detected mTRON 32gb SSD. I'm glad it wasn't dead on arrival... i just have to wait for 10 minutes to be detected when I turn on my computer. This situation is almost like starting an old car in the morning because you have to "warm up" the engine before you go.

For Latitude D420/430, is this normal for just mtron SSD or for all SSDs?

when i had a first gen samsung ssd in my d420 it found and booted instantly. It sounds like your SSD is toast.

    But it's working.

I ran some tests and it does its job as advertised... 0.1 ms access time and its read/write rates that simply blows stock D420 HDD out of the water

Sounds like something is still wrong with it. I do not know if it is the controller, the quality of the components inside, whatever. One of these days you'll probably find that instead of it taking 10 minutes to boot...it does not boot at all.
