The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. Is this the M4500 or E6510?

Well, the Giz has some pics:
    http://gizmodo.com/5489016/dell-precision-m4500-workstation-has-superman-guts-in-a-156-body

    Observations:
They switched the placement of the VGA and displayport ports, and shuffled around the other ports. Probably a good idea.
They made the display a 16:9 ratio (and therefore added a numpad). BAD BAD BAD.
The lid design is slightly different. Looks as good, if not better.
    The latch system is new.
The specs are insane - as is the price, probably.

Good find it is a 5500.

Also there was another shot with a refurbished sticker on the back so that would make sense.

There is no numpad. And for the 16x9 thing, what we're you expecting?
Personally i don't mind a new ratio if they'll give us better quality screens in return. Focussing production on 1 format might free up resources to bring back higher quality panels for laptops.
I don't really like the DP port on the side, i actually use that and rather have it tucked away at the back, out of sight and not in the way of anything else. DP cable is pretty thick and stiff and points right to where i have my keyboard on my desk.

Hmm...maybe you're right. I thought I saw a numpad-like shape, but maybe those are just the arrow keys.
I can understand that you're annoyed by DP, but it is more convenient to pull out from the side :)
