Jumping mouse pointer... Dell m6600

    Hi all, i have a problem with my Dell m6600, i get random jumps of the mouse pointer and mouse click... it happen on windows 7 and linux, the pointer jump to the left-top corner of the screen and do a click... i had updated the drivers.. i think is not a virus cause happend on windows and linux the same problem.. anyone know if is a defective hardware or how to resolved this... thanks!!!!

    yes my m6600 came with the touchscreen panel....

    If it does it in Linux, it indicates you have a hardware issue. Bad touchpad is kind of an uncommon issue with Dell. Do you have NBD/On site warranty? Tell them to send you a palmrest w/touchpad and get it replaced.

    hi thanks, but i think the problem is with the touchscreen, cause i had it to auto detect(finger or pen).. i changed it to only pen.. so the screen only work with the pen that came with it... i the problem has gone.... well i have working 1 day with no issue... thanks! all....

    Oh sorry didn't realize it was the touchscreen. Hrm well sometimes the digitizer layer goes bad which requires replacement of the LCD...well it's good it all worked out for you.

    I had a similar issue with my m6600 touchscreen, a calibration would fix it temporarily but it started happening with greater frequency so I sent it in for repairs.

    I don't have an m6600 yet. I have a Latitude XT2 tablet with a touch screen that exhibits the same pointer behavior. It happens every time I use the ac adapter with an inverter in my truck. According to the support person at ntrig it can also be caused by using a wwan card (cellular frequencies) on the XT2 because the antenna is located on top of the display.
