    I have an E5500 I purchsed from my cousin who has no clue what he did with any of his documentation. After contacting Dell and finding there are NO serrvice tags on my laptop and their auto system cant find it but they can find my windows key as valid. I want to wipe it install Windows 7, where can i get the correct drivers? i have been to dell support but it contains lots of drivers im sure i dont need. Help

    No service tag and no documentation has me wondering how your cousin acquired the computer.

    However, you can find out a lot about the hardware configuration by looking in the BIOS.

    I'm sorry, i should note in my post yes that does sound fishy. I do have the new egg reciept, and the case and all that was also orderd at the same time. I contacted newegg and they were very polite but said they dont record specifics on modles and i should go to dell, now the conundrum...
