Letters missing when typing on dell vostro 1500 laptop please help

    hi all newbie nik here would love a bit of help with this please
    when i type certain letters on my dell vostro llaptopthey dont work nothing happens the cursor keeps flashing in the same place.
    the letters are b n g h space bar enter key
    all the numbers when pressed show exclamation marks dollar signs etc
    and sometimes when caps lock is on the letters show small case and when off they are upper case
    cannot do fullstops
    been through the language settings and all the rest of it:whats going on its driving me mad
    any advice would be great thanks nik

    I would start by reseating the keyboard connector. Follow the keyboard removal and replacement instructions in the service manual.

    Yeah, make sure the keyboard is connected properly, then, if that doesn't work, replace it. Keyboard's aren't that expensive.
