While it only makes sense that the E4300 will always consume less power than the E6400, my point is countering your con in that the E6400 will still give you excellent battery life.

Yeah, that's true. I still think 4 hours is excellent battery life, but maybe I'm just easily impressed. :p

My main concern was weight. I thought i had decided on the e4300, but you kind of convinced me otherwise. E6400 would be cheaper... How noticeable is the weight difference? I'll be taking my to class as well

1 more question, do they all come with docks?

Like I said, I never had both at the same time, so accurately comparing weight is difficult. But, from memory, I would say it is easily noticeable but not significant. By this I mean that if you close your eyes and lifted one then the other, you could easily tell which was which judging by their weights. However, unless you are particularly weak or have some sort of injury which prevents you from lifting slightly heavier objects for extended periods of time, I wouldn't worry about it.
Neither of mine came with docks.
I ordered both of mine through the Outlet, so they came with 21-day full money back return policies (I also got free shipping both ways, so it is a true money-back guarantee). If you can afford to temporarily pay for them both, you might consider ordering one E4300 and one E6400 and comparing them yourself. Hope this helps and tell us what you end up with.

I'm the opposite. I work out and and am pretty strong, but I still prefer the lighter E4300 over the E6400.

Pulled the trigger on an e4300. I went with the e4300 becuase I've always wanted a 13", so I figured I should get what I've wanted. With the 21 day money back guarantee, I fell safe if I don't like it and want to try an e6400 instead
    specs are:
    2.26 C2D
    4GB ram
    80GB 7.2K HDD
    6 cell
    backlit Keyboard
    8X DVD +/- RW
    etc.
for a little over $700. Wil be replacing the machine in my sig. Thanks for all the help and input
