I bought the M2400 two years ago pretty much the day it came out and loved it (dock, audio-carrying displayport) until I needed to do work that stressed the CPU when it would throttle down to a useless 800 MHz within 5 to 10 mins.

ThrottleStop which worked great but at the back of my mind I always thought maybe I should give Dell a call to see if anything could be done on the hardware side.

Finally decided to give Dell (Hong Kong) a call this weekend. They had me run the diagnostics and with some nagging on my part said they would have someone up on the next business day with a new motherboard, CPU, and heat sink.

The tech arrived on-time; performed the organ transplants in 30 mins and now my docked idle temp in a 24 deg C airconditioned room is 35 deg C instead of the 50 where it was previously !!

    I love Dell.
