    Hi all,

Just got my new M4500 and as part of my ritual, I dumped everything on the drive just after doing a Bios update.
The update was from the stock A01 to the A01 patch to A03.

I also generally restore defaults after an update and then proceed to install Windows. Problem is, I can't figure out what the drive settings are supposed to be and so after the first wave of Windows install, it fails to boot from the hard drive.

    My question:
What do you/should I have the following:

    SATA Operation:
    Disabled
    ATA
    AHCI
RAID On (This is what restore defaults seems to set it to)

    Boot Sequence:
    Legacy or UEFI?

Also, my delivery date was meant to be the 16th but ended up arriving yesterday (within a week of ordering). The laptop looks brand new but but had no protective film on the lid like my M4400 had (I think). Do the M4500's normally come with it or...?

    Thanks in advance!
    AJ

Ok I just checked the M4400 ad it's the equiv of RAID On and the standard Legacy with IRRC or whatever it is as the bootable drive.
I'll try the W7 install again but I'm sure this is what it was on earlier where after the W7 initial install, on reboot, I got just a blank screen

    Nevermind, all sorted -
The above settings worked fine - I'm sure it was already set like that but anyway...W7 installed.
Now the painful task of drivers/software :)
