I made the mistake of installing Win 7 with IRRT selected in the BIOS. I'd like to switch to AHCI w/o reinstalling everything. I've read the thread on doing this for the M4400 but none of the things mentioned there seem to work on the M4500.

Has anyone gotten this to work? How?

    Thanks.

Try following this thread. I did the same switch (IRRT -> AHCI) on my E6400 a few months back. It's an older chipset but the principles should reply. I think I put a post near the end of that thread.

Thanks, but that's the set of things I already tried.
It's the different chipset that is causing me trouble.

If anyone can post the revelent sections of the registry from an M4500 with Win 7 and AHCI that would help!

I do have the original Dell XP setup that does work with either IRRT or AHCI but the registry entries are not in the same places so I haven't been able to use that as a reference.
