    Hi,

I recently got the M4600 and have been noticing a strange issue with the keyboard input.

On several occasions I'm just regularly typing out a sentence(s) and when looking at the screen I notice that some of my text have moved to a different position.

    Example:

    t sentence.
    Hi, this is a tes

I haven't been able to figure out why it's doing this. At first I thought maybe I could be hitting a wrong key somewhere or moving the touch pad. I'm comfortable with using laptop keyboards, as I've owned several Dells, IBMs, and a macbook that I haven't seen this issue before.

The only other thing I can think of as the moment is to attach a standard desktop keyboard and see if I notice the same thing. I didn't see any driver updates to the keyboard on Dell's website.

    Thanks.

Is your touchpad on? An errant finger on the touchpad or eraserhead (pointstick in layman's terms) could take text and move it without you knowing maybe...

its definitely the touchpad. you're probably taking time getting used to the offset location.

i suggest you do into mouse options and turn "touchcheck" up (its a slider) until it stops happening, but the drawback of this is that you may find the touchpad "lags" a bit, as in when you first touch it it takes a second to decide if its an accidental touch or an intentional input

Thanks, I'll check this out as it makes sense. I didn't see the TouchCheck option, so I'm assuming this is part of a driver. None of the Dell specific drivers & software has been installed from what I can tell. I'll download it from the Dell support website.
