Hi, I have 6GB of RAM in my M4600, but recently I've found that sometimes my computer slows down and I get warnings that I'm low on memory, and they usually recommend that I close Google Chrome (once or twice it was Opera, Photoshop once.). Sometimes afterwards Chrome would just freeze up and crash. Or tabs would randomly crash, and if I try to go to a new site, or reload the crashed tabs, it would load for a few seconds then crash.

When I get the warning, I admittedly do have dozens of tabs up but that's something that I always do. I've had the laptop since November and even with 2GB of ram and dozens of tabs up I never got that warning.

I can't think of any software that might be eating up my RAM in the background. I ususally have CrashPlan running, don't know if that could be part of the problem, but it's set to use 10% CPU while I'm present. Not sure what effect that setting has on RAM usage.

    Any ideas?

you may have a virus or spyware causing issues here

    Time to back up things

I would consider a freash install of windows / driver updates etc.

If your running Windows 7 the resource monitor should show you what is consuming your memory.

I've done a virus scan the other day. I'll probably do a fresh install after Crashplan is done updating.

Don't see much except for Chrome taking up lots of memory at times. I'll reinstall it.
