So I've been trying to get any Linux distro with KDE 4.6 or higher installed on my M4600. So far, every one I've tried (ie:Kubuntu 11.04 & 11.10Beta, Fedora 15 & 16Alpha, Suse 11.4, and Debian 6) fails to shutdown my computer. Linux will shutdown all the processes but it cant physically turn off my laptop, I have to hold the power button to get it to go off. Only one I've found so far that will fully shutdown my M4600 is Kubuntu 10.04 but thats not the nice UI I wanted and I cant find a way to update KDE on 10.04 to 4.6 or higher. Any thoughts guys? Any KDE distros I forgot about? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I actually had the same problem initially with Ubuntu 11.04. It seems to have fixed itself after installing updates; I think the kernel was updated at some point.

@mr_bankai did you resolve your problem? I plan to get a dual boot Linux/Win7 4600 so this issue wil be relevant for me.
