Sorry in advance if these questions are old stuff.
I just purchased a M6300 working just fine. Because of the matte finish the display seemed a little dimmer than i expected for a (according to the service tag no) 2 year old system even at max brightness. As i understand it the ccfl half life is between 3-5 years. My question is as follows: If i buy a new display for $150.00 which includes ccfl and inverter board, will my brightness be as good as the day the system was manufactured, or are there other componant(s) involved.

Are you sure it's the LCD? Does it display externally dim or is it fine externally? If it's CCFL, it'll have an inverter. If you are in Dell warranty, let Dell take care of it.

If not, I would replace the inverter first (20-40 dollar part) before going for the LCD. Now if it's the backlight that's gone out, then yes it is more time effective to purchase a new LCD.
