I am by no means an OC expert. I just want to give ThrottleStop a try to increase the Performance of my i7-920xm.

I played around with ThrottleStop and managed some BSODs ;)

May anyone please provide any info on how far you can safely go with ThrottleStop and the i7-920xm in a Dell M6500?

(What does TDP, TDC mean? I raised it from 55/47, to something way higher - don't remember currently, as I noticed, that without raising these values, the multiplier does not raise to the max I specified)

What are safe settings for mutlipliers for 1, 2, 3 and 4 cores along with TDP, TDC values?

I've had a M6500 with a 940XM since August, and Throttlestop has made the extra processor cost worthwhile. You will need to do some trial and error like any overclocking, but here are my settings.

I can get the laptop to shutdown, but it takes a while at true single-core workloads (I use SolidWorks and it almost exclusively single-threaded). If anything, I probable have the TDP and TDC too high on profile 1. I usually use profile 2 for safety, but experimentation is fun. Profile 4 are the stock settings when I started.
