Size and weight is not a issue so no need to mention those.

The super thread was too much to wade through.

Can someone give in a nutshell the good the bad and ugly of the M6500?

I hate the BIOS. I miss my M17x bios and the backlit kb doesn't stay on by itself.

I know it is a desktop replacement. That is what I am looking for right now. I am wanting to know what warts it has and the positives.

What do you hate about the bios? Is the bios a potential deal breaker?

Of course it does, if you tell it to. So yeah, I guess you could fault it for not reading your mind, since you do have to set it to stay on yourself...

This machine is a serious contender for my next portable.

I am still interested in the quality of the keyboard and what is the issue with the bios?

It's difficult to say, unless we have an idea of what you want to compare it to. What some people would consider to be a wart or downside, others might consider to be an upside. It would help to have an idea of what sort of things you plan to do with the machine, and what other machines you have experience with or are looking at to be able to make a good comparison.

The keyboard is fine and there's no issue with the BIOS.
