What am I supposed to do with 4-finger multi-touch? I understand that 2 fingers are useful for intuitive zooming, but in which scenarios do I actually need more than 2 fingers?

Is that a significant from the touch screen on the new E6420/E6520? Has anyone used both?

Seriously people stop turning this thread into a HP vs Dell screen pissing contest. This is about the new Precisions that are coming out. You guys are seriously causing a distraction to the actual conversation.

Ugh I see the Dell M6400/M6500 palm rest "corners of death" aka emo_edges have made their way to the new M4600.... :(

People that worry about "emo_edges" might not be Dell's main audience for the machine. I have used the M6500 for about 15 months and my wrists are still fine. I am sure that if you were to buy an M and have issues with the corners, they would gladly take it back within the initial return window.

Some people work with 14 bit camera RAW files. Going from 256 shades of red, green, and blue (8 bit RGB) to 1024 shades is nothing to sneeze at.

I think we're still a month away from seeing these listed. :(

I've been assigned 2x M6400's and 1x M6500 in the past for software development (more maintenance cycle at this point primarily) and the corners are just killer for those who rest their forearms at an angle. Plus, it has zero tapering so the thickness of the bottom is uniform back to front.....and is thick on the bottom. Pity, as the M6300 did not have that problem. :(

I've been using an M4500 due to the killer sharp corners of the M6400/M6500 that just makes it impossible for me to use for prolonged periods of time. Now I see even the M4600 is adopting the corners of death. Real pity as a the matte RGBLED screen on the M6500 was great and the M4500 is a decent compromise machine. We don't deal with HP or Lenovo (boo) only Dell for in house contract machines.

I'd like to see some decent pictures of all sides, and specs, particularly about storage and screen options on the M4600.

Bit surprising that we're on the third completely new design in three years, looking at the pics that are available, there doesn't seem to be any fan vents on the sides, which would be a return to common sense, and am wondering if that will mean going back to having a "non stick out" 9 cell battery mounted towards the front, like they used to be....win win if it does.

Does anybody know if the 15.6" will be a three spindle design, or have a removable caddy?
