I am thinking about getting a M6600 refurb from either ebay or dell outlet. I need a Blu-ray reader for it. My assumptions are I will need to upgrade to an aftermarket one. My understanding is that it will need to be a 9.5mm drive. My questions are this: does anyone know the read speed for BD-rom that comes with the M6600? I don't need a BD writer, but am looking for a good BD-rom reader. I would like a 6x read speed, but could settle for a 4x. Any suggestions on an aftermarket one? If I am heading down the aftermarket path, does it mater if I get the M6600 with a tray vs slot load original drive? Thanks.

I can't answer all your questions, but I will answer a few:

    1. Get a tray loader. You will want the bezel so you can swap it to the new drive, which will be a tray loader.
    2. 9.5mm is correct.
    3. I haven't seen any 9.5mm BD-Roms, only BD-RW. I'm sure they exist but I haven't run across any.
    4. UJ-232/UJ-242/UJ-252 are the part numbers for the BD-RW drives.
