I am looking to upgrade from my M6300 to a new M6600. I noticed that I can buy a new one on Ebay cheaper than an I buy one from Dell. How is this possible and is there a catch?

    thanks in advance,

thanks for moving this post whom ever did it. I realized I posted in the wrong forum when I hit the enter key. I just didn't know how to move it.

Dell's retail or website prices are typically very high compared to what the gear can actually be bought for, either through an account rep, or through someone who buys in bulk from Dell.

As long as the seller is willing to transfer the warranty registration, there shouldn't be a 'catch'. I've bought 4 Dell Latitudes off of eBay so far, no issues.

A lot of these are probably refurbished machines from the Dell Outlet shop (i.e. those returned during 30 days or whatever is the money back period these days).
