Hey guys I've got a problem with my M6600 when running After Effects CS5.5. Basically after a minute or two (sometimes more, sometimes less) or working on a composition, AE crashes. The cause of the crash is always appears as "Fault Module Name: NtrigInterfacePressure.dll_unloaded".

Is anyone else seeing this with their machines? I have upgraded my N-Trig driver package with the latest directly from the N-Trig site (v6.85) as well as updated AE to the latest version.

I'm curious to know if anyone else with a touchscreen is also using After Effects and is running into similar issues.

As a side note, all other Adobe products seem to run fine with the touchscreen and pen e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, Encore, etc.

This even happens with an extremely basic comp with a single white solid, crashed within 30 secs of creating the white solid. Here's a screen shot:

If anyone is interested, I'm still researching my own issue and did infact find a workaround solution. It involves simply removing the NtrigInterfacePressure.dll file from the system32 folder. This fixes the error in After Effects but, naturally, breaks the pressure sensitivity of the pen input.

That solution was found here Adobe Forums: problem with graphics card

Going to try and replicate what you were seeing. Did you ever install the N-Trig drivers from the Dell site? You installed the M6600 Bundle for Win 7 64bit from the N-Trig site? You also installed Win_Tab_Setup that handles pressure for Photoshop and other Adobe products?

    Thanks Bokeh,

Yes, I had the latest Dell Drivers (v6.81) initially, and then once the problem started, I upgraded to the latest N-Trig ones. I did also install Win_Tab_Setup and the gesture pack afterwards as well. The issue still persisted until I removed the .dll from system32.

Also, I sent a support request directly to N-Trig, we'll see if they respond.

With the standard "N-Trig BULK" drivers that install with Windows 7 sp1, I had no issues at all with After Effects 5.5.

Installed the Dell N-Trig 6.81 drivers and After Effects would run fine, but I started getting a message that After Effects had crashed after I closed the program. I would open it, run the composition you emailed me for 10 minutes, close the program. The program would close and maybe 5 seconds later I would get the Windows popup that a program had stopped unexpectedly.

Installed the Win_Tabs software with 6.81. Same behavior. Runs fine, errors on exit.

Installed the 6.85 drivers from the N-Trig site. This also updates the firmware of the digitizer. After Effects will now crash while running your composition. There is no set amount of time that it will run before the crash.

Uninstalled Win_Tabs software. All works normally. No crashes. No errors on program exit. Now running 6.85 and waiting for a fix from either N-Trig or Adobe.

UPDATE: Here's the response I received from N-Trig.

It's good to know that they are very aware of the problem as evidenced by the suggested workaround and are working towards a solution. I guess it's just a matter of time at this point until it's resolved.

So I'm eagerly awaiting my m6600 with mtouch, and I was wondering if anyone had some new information about this? Did n-trig ever come through?

    Thanks!
