    Hi,

This is the first time I have have posted on here, and was wondering if anyone can shed a little light on my problem.

I have had my Dell vostro 1500 for a few years now and its been a good steady workhorse for me, but I find now when using cpu heavy programs it is maxing out to 100% usage. So I'm looking at upgrading the cpu from T7500 2.2Ghz to T9900 3.06 Ghz. My question is can the mobo support speeds higher than 2.2 on this system?

Have read somewhere (can't remember where) that 2.2 is max speed the board supports... Can anyone please possibly post their own experiences/knowledge with upgrades.

    Thanks.

    T7500 @ 2.2Ghz, 800Mhz FSB | 4GB DDR2 RAM (333Mhz)

No your chipset does not support 1066 FSB Core 2 Duo's so T9900 is out of the question. Quickest Core 2 Duo for the Vostro 1500 965 chipset is 2.8 GHz, either an X9000 or X7900. X9000 are still pricey as it is a Penryn chip, X7900 is the fastest Merom.
