OK, maybe I didn't write it clearly enough (now edited for clarity): the ebay junk is not free either, so it would be about 30 bucks MORE to buy the newmodeus caddy - which strikes me as chump change compared to the price of the notebook and SSD.

I prefer msata ssd in first place, and caddy sata SSD as second choice. This is because i do not need to bring along the optical drive if msata ssd is used.

I have to choose the 2nd option because i need WWAN card at the same time. Just placed order for the caddy 2 days ago. Will use it with the new x25m 160Gb SSD I have. "New" when i bought it last year but lying unuse until today.

The optical drive will be connected through esata if i need it and there is no need to swap with the hdd caddy. Only problem is i have to bring it along...

Jolly good sir, i will wait for your review if the caddy is a good fit for m4600 so i can decide if newmodeus are worth their price.

Just installed OCZ Agility 3 264 gb in cd drive bay with $20 caddy. Must use Acronis to migrate boot HDD files. Nortpn Ghost can't clone original 500 gb HDD to a 256 gb SSD, neither can Win 7 backup and retire shrink partitions. In any event, much faster, but disappointing that I am only getting SATA 2 test results. Think that CD bay only supports SATA 2; any comments?
Running M4600 i7 to the max, 8 gb RAM, Win 7 Pro

The Optical Drive bay is indeed only SATA II.

Do you have a slot or tray loading dvd that you replaced the caddy with?
