My Dell Laptop Latitude d620 won't power on

    i have this lat d620 given to me just yersterday, when i press the power button, it shows all green light for just 5secs and (would not display) troops off, the processor fan are working meanwhile it is a duo centrino intel CPU and when i losened the keyboard i noticed the CMOS battery has been disconnected, well luckily for me i fixed it back but there was a technique i used in powering it on, i hold down the power button and after 5 to trials it will start-up but this time around i was installing xp while trooped off again and it never came up. i noticed the processor was badly heated. pls anyone with a good idea what could be going on with my laptop. many thanks as i look forward to hearing from you all..................osd says thank u

    The first thing I would do is to remove and replace the RAM which cleans up their contacts. If the BIOS can't access the RAM then the boot process stops.

    Hi the first few things I would do;

    Remove battery and AC adapter. Hold down power button for 30 seconds.

    Reseat RAM/HDD

    Test AC adapter/battery

    Also the D620 is known for the heat issues, especially models with the Nvidia Quadro graphics.
