my dell latitude x1 won't turn off?

    hi everyone,am using dell latitude x1 but when i press start and command to turn off my laptop wont turn off....what is the problem?am using windows xp pro sp3

    Do other functions such as sleep, hibernate and restart work?

    You can try changing the options in the power settings in Control Panel to provide a work-around by, for example, setting the power button to shut down.
