    Hi,
I am going to buy an M6600 for simple tasks but I have one concern about noise and heat (With me, base Dell M6600 is powerful enough to work). So can you guys help me information about:
    1. Noise: how much noise it is, with Firepro and with NVDIA. This is the most important thing I consider because I work in living space where is very quiet and I hate noise which distract me from thinking. How do we compare noise with some visual/imaginary things like equal to music at level 2 on thinkpad sound or something like that
    2. Heat: how much heat it is, for normal usage when using web, video and when performs photoshop tasks

    Thank so much

    Hi vnos,

I find the M6600 very quiet.
When used for word processing or Web surfing, there is almost no noise to speak of.
Under heavy use (ex : raw => jpeg processing), fans are working harder, but the noise is less than most laptops and should not be disturbing.

Cooling is excellent and, despite it being a big and powerful laptop, you can use it on your knees.
Look at M6600 Bokeh thread for more information about fans and cooling with photos :
