    My D600 is having issues.

    - Motherboard is loosing connection to the network adapter
    - bluetooth module is intermittent

This laptop owes me nothing. Bought it used and it has served me well. The things I like about it include:
    - SXGA screen 1400x1050
    - Size - its a skinny laptop, thinner than D610
    - Good battery performance - especially with the extra bay battery.

Looking for suggestions on what to replace it. D610, D620 ?? Who has upgraded and what are the downsides of the D600 successors.

    Thanks

    Derek.-

If you just want to replace the D600 for a super-low cost, the D610 isn't a bad choice. You can pick 'em up for around $250 on eBay if you look around. Hell, I'd sell you mine for that price.

D620/D630 are also solid machines if you want to spend a little bit more. Personally I think these two are the sturdiest Latitudes ever built, and they're still marginally thinner than the D600. I think you can get a nice D620 around $350 on eBay, but I'm not so sure about the D630.

If you want something up-to-date, then the E6400 is the way to go. A family member of mine actually upgraded from the D600 to the E6400, and she's perfectly content with the newer machine. Not as sturdy as the D620/D630, but definitely thinner and lighter. Battery life is also superb; an E6400 with an IGP and a 9-Cell can beat the D600 with the media bay battery in runtime.

Need more constraints if I were to narrow the choices down further...
